How To Clean the 7 Most Popular Surfaces

We have been a reliable supplier of a variety of high-quality Atlanta countertops for many years. In that time, we have acquired a vast collection of knowledge and useful information that we have shared with our customers through the years.

One important recommendation we always make to our customers is to clean their countertops regularly and properly. This will ensure that they get many years of use and enjoyment from their countertops in their home.

Below are simple tips you can follow to keep your countertops looking as fresh and shiny as the day they were installed.

Wood

To clean a wood countertop, use a cleaner that is specifically formulated for cleaning a wood surface. Spray the cleaner onto a sponge rather than directly on the countertop. Make sure you completely dry the surface after you clean it. Do not use abrasive cleaners or bleach.

Stainless Steel

There are cleaners that are specifically made for cleaning stainless steel surfaces. You can use those or simple household cleaners like soap. The important thing to remember is to dry the surface of a stainless steel counter completely after cleaning. Any type of liquid left sitting on a stainless steel surface for a long time can result in unsightly spots.

Glass

To keep glass countertops looking their best, use glass cleaners regularly to prevent grime build-up. Clean stains immediately with a paper towel or a soft rag moistened with soapy water.

Solid Surface

This is an easy countertop surface to maintain. A damp cloth dipped in soapy water will easily get rid of most stains. Stubborn stains may require a more forceful rubbing.

Quartz

As quartz is a stain-resistant material, all you really need to maintain your quartz countertop is to clean it with a damp cloth or paper towel regularly. A non-abrasive cleaning pad and glass cleaner will get rid of persistent stains.

Natural Stone

Do not use any type of cleaning chemicals on natural stone countertops like granite or marble. Most stains lift right off using a mild dishwashing detergent and some light scrubbing.

Laminate

Use a wet soft cloth to clean your laminate countertop. Avoid using steel wool as it can permanently scratch the surface. To remove stains, apply a paste of baking soda and water to the stain for a few minutes. Then simply wipe the paste off with a moistened cloth.

  • Our kitchen looks awesome!

“I wanted to tell you what a wonderful experience Mike and I had with putting in our granite counters last week. We had never done a make-over before, so when my husband suggested putting in granite counters I groaned.  Little did I know at the time how smooth and painless everyone at Premier Surfaces would make it. Every encounter was extremely professional. Our kitchen looks awesome and I really appreciate having the opportunity to work with such a great group of people. If we ever decide to do anything like that in the future we will use definitely use Premier Surfaces.”

  • Done right the FIRST time!

“I walked in on a Friday, and was surprised to see just how busy they were — always a good sign of how a business is doing. In the process of waiting my turn, a number of people asked if I had been assisted yet. Customer service isn’t something you get in most places these days. I walked around their facility and really got a different feel compared to how I felt at other granite shops. The selection was great, everyone was friendly, and they took the time to teach me about the differences in quality for all of the chioces of a fabricator out there. The professionalism, friendly and incredibly knowledgable staff set them apart from the other “competitors”. My kitchen looks beautiful and the investment in my home was well worth it to have it completed correctly THE FIRST TIME. I will be upgrading a few bathrooms in the future and can’t think of any other granite fabricator I’d rather use.”
