Choosing the right color for your kitchen countertops can be a difficult choice. In our warehouse alone, there are thousands of options, each of which could fit beautifully in a specific space—but they aren’t always the right look for your space. Finding the right color is a delicate balance between design scheme, individual décor elements and optimizing your investment.
Consider the Overall Look You Want
When you begin a renovation project, you will often plan out what you are hoping to do in advance. You will determine what kind of cabinetry (and what finish) you want, what kind of flooring will look best, what color family you want to focus on and so forth. Each of these elements works together to create your whole space, and your countertops should work well with each of these elements, as well.
We recommend that homeowners bring samples of their wood finishing, flooring, wall colors, etc. when they visit our warehouse. Having these samples on hand will help you see how a certain stone will work in your space.
Ask Your Decorator
If you are using a designer or decorator for your remodel, the obvious choice is to ask for their input when the time comes to pick your kitchen countertops. They will have an intimate understanding of the design components and they will be able to guide you towards certain color families, or even towards specific slabs within our warehouse.
Consider Resell Value
Many homeowners neglect to consider the resell value behind their personal color choices. Over-customizing your home to meet your personal tastes can make it difficult to sell later on. We recommend that you consider more neutral colors for your home so that you will get the best value out of your investment. In addition to making your home easier to resell, using a more neutral stone can make any future redecorating or renovating projects easier.
